Our Story

On a mission to curate high-end items that align with your style and personality, we opened Dukes Clothier in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, in 2015. At that time, our team consisted of Hannah Adcox, two employees, and our pug, Mr. Pickles. We’ve since grown, and we now have stores in Birmingham, Alabama, Athens, Georgia, and Fairhope, Alabama.

Our store is named after the iconic Doris Duke (1912-1993), who resembles our founder and inspires her nickname “Doris”. As an heiress and philanthropist, Doris Duke traveled the world with her two camels and collected Islamic Art for her home that is now the Shangri La Museum of Islamic Art in Hawaii. Moroccan architecture and other mementos of her are reflected throughout our brand and store locations to offer a thoughtful and detailed shopping experience.
